A note from Charles
AI isn't going to take your job. People using AI are going to take your job.
I saw a hiring manager on LinkedIn admitting that they're already splitting candidates into two groups: People who use AI in their workflow, and people who don't. The second group doesn't get invited to interviews.
Consultants and coaches using AI to handle onboarding, outreach and sales are winning business that used to go to bigger firms with bigger teams. A four-person company can operate like it has forty people behind it. I know because that's what we do at Pip Decks.
We automated our bookkeeping. That was costing us £3,000 a month. I built a PDF generator in an evening that would've taken weeks of back-and-forth with a designer. I made a WhatsApp assistant that keeps my ADHD brain organised. None of this required a developer. None of it required writing code. I described what I wanted in English and built it myself.
I can't overstate how good that feels. Not waiting for someone else to build your ideas. Not paying for software that does 80% of what you need and charges you extra for the rest. Just having an idea and making it, the same day, exactly how you want it.
I used to look at an idea and ask “could I build that?” Now the question is “do I have time to build that today?” Once that shift happens in your head, it doesn't go back.
