Contributing to Real Products

Here’s something that surprises a lot of people: non-programmers can contribute real improvements to production software using AI agents. Simple things, sure, but improvements nonetheless.

Working alongside experienced engineers is one of the fastest ways to learn. Watch their PRs (pull requests). Pay attention when they explain how they scope new product features or how they approach bug fixes. These conversations are incredibly valuable.

The whole experience is a big learning opportunity. And the best part? It’s genuinely enjoyable. This isn’t “learning to code” in the traditional sense. It’s learning to work with code. There’s a meaningful difference.
